Rick Dieterich

Rick Dieterich is a U.S. Navy Submarine Service veteran and business leader with a strong foundation in sales, operations, and customer service. He attended Northwestern University and the University of Denver, where he studied Business Administration, before beginning a successful 14-year career in the automotive industry. Working his way from salesman to General Manager at large dealerships in Colorado and Connecticut, Rick developed the leadership, sales, and client-service skills that would later shape his career in the marine industry. In 2004, he made the transition from automobiles to yachts, joining a local new boat dealership as a Yacht Broker. Within four years, he became General Manager of the 40-year-old business and helped set new sales records along the way.

In 2010, Rick and his wife, Kimberly, made a leap of faith by opening Springline Yacht Sales, their own dealership and yacht brokerage in Mystic, Connecticut. In 2024, Springline Yacht Sales merged with Massey Yacht Sales in Palmetto, Florida, bringing together two respected organizations to form one of the largest new sailboat, powerboat, and yacht brokerages on the East Coast of the United States.

With more than 35 years of sales experience, Rick brings a leadership philosophy grounded in service, sincerity, and ethics to every interaction with team members, vendors, and customers. His expertise and perspective have been featured in major industry publications, including Cruising World, WindCheck, and Boating Industry. Rick has served on the Membership Committee as a Regional Captain for the Yacht Brokers Association of America and has been a Certified Professional Yacht Broker since 2007. He is also a charter member of Sail America, the Connecticut Marine Trades Association, the Boats Group Advisory Board, the Mystic Chamber of Commerce, and other professional organizations. Rick has appeared several times as a panelist at Yacht Broker University for the “Industry Best Practices” and “Ethics in Selling” forums. Outside the marine industry, he has presented to High Point University business students, serves in the university’s business school mentorship program, and has contributed as a board member for the Mystic Schooners baseball team and the Fenner Hill Homeowners Association.
